Taurus PT 1911 question

I hope to get a Taurus PT 1911 soon. Does any one know of any problem using lead bullets?

No problems I have heard of,in fact I shot quite a few 200 gr semi Wadcutters my dad loaded for me,hardcast bullets that he makes. They shot pretty well and didnt effect the barrel that I can tell.

Just get some lead remover cloth by birchwood casey and use it to clean the barrel out as well as shooter choice lead remover solution.

Oh yeah PT1911's are over priced for what you get IMO your better off with a Para USA GI for the money, I'd just get a Kimber there going for less than $700 NIB in my area.

In general, lead bullets lead the bbl. Otherwise, no problems using them in PT 1911.

Only ran one box (250 rds) through my PT1911; shoot reasonably well and the barrel cleaned up easily. With price of bulk 230 gr FMJ I just stick with that.

Side note; I have a Kimber and a PT1911 and both are pretty dang accurate and eat anything you shove down their throats.

Yeah but the quality of the Para Seems to be Higher and PT1911's are going for about 50-150 more here than the Para's.

To me a PT1911 looks too goofy with the HUGEEEE Taurus Lettering on the side.

same here. I have about 1300-1500 185gr and 200gr LSWC through my taurus. The 200gr are commercial hardcast, the 185gr are ones I cast myself. both have 0 leading.
