Picked up a 1911 Loaded Lightweight today...This is a discussion on Picked up a 1911 Loaded Lightweight today... within the M1911 forums, part of the Other Handgun Talk category; Awesome gun, very tight. However, the magazine release is damn near impossible to push in, even when there's no mag in the well. Any way ...

Awesome gun, very tight. However, the magazine release is damn near impossible to push in, even when there's no mag in the well. Any way to soften it up besides pushing it a thousand times?

That seems odd to me. I'd detail strip it and check for a burr in the mag release channel, or on the release itself. If you find an obvious one, a little extra fine sandpaper or a fine rat tail file should work wonders. Just don't overdo it.

Don't have a digital camera. Spend all my money on guns, lol. It's a bi-tone with an ArmoryKote-looking black on the bottom and stainless on the top. It's got the fixed trijicons. This will be my primary carry gun when the weather gets cold enough to wear a coat (I'm in Texas, so probably in a month). Bought as a used-but-never-fired for $725 on GunBroker. Actually, let me link to the page; there are pics there:

Very nice. Never seen a blue SA case before. Something new or am I living under a rock?
