I bought my compact from centerfiresystems.com for $360. They have good prices on a lot of the RIA models. Also sarco has some good prices.

I appreciate all the help guys but my funding may have fallen through. I'm working on it and seeing if they will negotiate the price compared to the sites you've posted.

When you've gotta have it, you've gotta have it. Find the money. Pimp out the dog or something. A good gun like that for a good price? You will hate yourself forever if you don't get it.

I had a chance to buy one a few months ago for $325 and decided to wait. Now I can't find any around here. When I do, I plan to buy one.

Very nice for a starter 1911. Once you get your first, plan to purchase more 1911's! Once you have been bitten, your eyes will wonder towards the customs and then it's all over.

I have one and love it .. I trust my life to it. I changed out the wooden grips fot a rubber wrap-around.

I have not had any failures to this date. I keep it loaded with powerball.

The Factory Manual that came with My Military Style 1911 says that it takes about five hundred rounds to break the Pistol in and that a few FTF's are normal during the break in period.
I am a firm believer that if You take care of Your Pistol that it will take care of You.
I learned this in the Service and if the fact that I never had a bit of trouble from the WW-2 issue 1911 I was issued means anything it is that proper break in and care are essential to keep Your Pistol in top condition.

Mine had ftf's in the first 200 rnds I switched to kimber pro ss mags and I've never had another one 6000+rnds later.Fantastic 1911 for the price, and I found a dealer in AZ that stocks and orders factory parts for the RIA's so when I upgrade my GI to the tactical I can use factory parts.Only thing I will need to get different will be the sights and grips.

I keep mine loaded with Federal HST's,Taurus Copper HP's,and occasionally when I can afford them Winchester silvertips
