Nice review - I ordered the MC2 a while back from LA Police Gear and it's backordered so here I sit and wait!

I used to carry my Sig 226 in a Miami Classic rig. It worked great. I did NOT want tie downs to my belt. That is easy to see under a suit and prevents things like easy movement and taking a crap.
Down side - on any shoulder holster - it is easier for an aggressor / bad guy in a fight to draw your gun and kill you with it than it is for you to draw your gun. And no, you can't just blow people away who you think might want to fight you. Still I wish I could find one for my XD45 or my rail equiped 1911 Government. Chapie+ |

I got my Miami Classic used on eBay for $80.
I kept my eye on eBay for over 3 months and finally lucked into this one. I'm very happy with it. Carry my Sig P229 in it with three 15 round mags. ![]() I have adjusted very high, only a few inches from the pits. It is very comfortable and when I reach for it, it has a natural feel. I can reach for it and draw very easily. When I reach for the spare mags, no problems... I can hide mine under a loose shirt. I need to get some pics made with it on. It isn't meant to hang low like you see in movies and TV. It is meant to ride high, and not flop around. I have no need for tie downs. I don't wear it a whole lot. But I wanted one to wear when the situation arises. And now I have it. I have worn this several times for an entire day without problem. Sometimes I forget I have it on. It also perfect for traveling and driving long distances. This pdf helped me a lot in the adjustment of the holster. Got mine adjusted and cut off most of the excess straps, leaving a little for adjustment. http://ccwsupply.biz/CCWInfoFittingY...derHolster.pdf AegisGunsmith.. try this and see if it doesn't help. If you still want tie downs, you can order them from Galco or OpticsPlanet.com - Binoculars, Sunglasses, Night Vision Goggles, Riflescopes, Flashlights, Telescopes, Rangefinders, Microscopes - Hunting, Outdoor, Science, & Military Gear Forget about the Don Johnson look (sorry Jettubby). It shouldn't hang low and flop around...........

I own two Galco Miami Classics - one for my 1911 and one for my Beretta 92. They are comfortable, accessible, concealable, and very well made. I also own a pair of IWB holsters (an El Paso Saddlery product and a Don Hume product) and they are very good and they are more concealable. The IWB's offer a slightly faster presentation, too. I have a 32 inch waist line and hip holsters, however, pull my pants down! With the exception of a couple pair of jeans, any gun I mount on my hip drags my pants down. I don't have that problem with a shoulder holster. Another problem that doesn't surface with a shoulder holster concerns bathroom breaks. Sitting on the toilet is no problem for someone wearing a shoulder holster.
Granted, shoulder holsters require certain dress styles, but I have found shoulder holsters allow a vast selection of dress for all occassions - anything from jeans and loose fitting shirts to sport coats and suits. Also, the lack of tie downs has never been a factor for me. A well fitted shoulder holster like the Miami Classic really doesn't need tie downs. I have never thought so, anyway. As far as cost, yes, a good shoulder holster is expensive, but when you add up the cost of a good holster, a good belt (maybe two good belts - one black, one brown), and a mag carrier, the cost is fairly close. If the shoulder holster costs more, the fact that it is so convenient to put on and take off and yet offers superior concealment, accessability, etc, well, I think you have a fair trade-off. I am probably in the minority as far as being someone who favors a shoulder holster, but they fit my life style and clothing style. I like them. As long as you have a double mag carrier on the opposite side to balance the weight, you will have great way to carry the gun. Good luck. There are lots of good holsters out there. It is kind of fun to look for all of them. |

To the OP. The word you're looking for is MAGAZINE, not clip.
If you have found a semi-auto handgun that accepts clips, please let me know, OH HOW I would be so very interested to buy one myself. Secondly, your "overall" statement is unfair and it's entirely your fault. The magazine pouches are designed for the standard/stock magazine that comes with your model gun. If you hadn't the forethought to realize extended magazines wouldn't fit in a stock magazine pouch, then it's on you. You also could have contacted Galco inquiring as to the magazine issue. Your final review is extremely unfair because you didn't take the time to research the product before you bought it.

He did say that the standard mags do fit, however they are very tight and hard to get out. Be easy there killer the OP is a FFL, who seems to be a decent guy. To the OP becareful, an honest review will piss a few off I guess.

I love my Miami Classic holsters (I have two - one for my 1911's and one for my Beretta). I have never found a need for belt tie downs and the gun has never printed uneccessarily. I wear mine with my suit coats, with an over sized shirt, with a jacket, and anytime I can cover it with appropriate clothing. Here in Minnesota that is about nine months out of the year.
I don't find them overly expensive either. When you figure in the cost of a belt holster, a good belt and a double magazine holster, I think the Galco rig is pretty damn reasonable. I really like them. |
