Blackhawk holsters by Serpra

Yesterday I bought a Blackhawk Holster by Serpra. I was looking for a leather holster for my XD45. I treid a few but none of them fit. I then tried the carbon fiber holster with a locking tab to keep it from sliding out the holster. It has an attachment for a paddle, but currently I'm runing a leather belt through it. Its holding firm to my hip and does nolt wabble. I'm going to try to get to the range and try and see if the locking tab is complicating exstacting the firearm from the holster. Any Imput would be nice if you are familiare with this product.

It's a serpa holster from Blackhawk. It's a great holster! Great strength, excellent retention, and drawing is a snap! Your finger winds up on the slide from where it originates on the button.(very safe and enables you to hold on to the weapon with other 3 fingers + thumb. Very secure!) Get use to it. Practice a little. It's a great design!

It is one of the better holsters, but I feel the paddle is too flimsy and I can feel it bouncing around ><

I bought the same setup a couple weeks back, and had the opportunity to try it out last Sunday while shooting with my old man. In retrospect, I should have saved the money on the carbon fiber and went with the plain, but other than that extremely minor issue I have zero complaints.

It takes only a few times to get used to drawing the weapon, but since that is where your trigger finger SHOULD be every time you draw, it really is helping me with proper trigger discipline. Extricating the weapon and reholstering will become second nature after an hour or so of shooting, or at least it did for me.

I tried it with the belt loop attachment first, which seemed, well, "wobbly". If I tried to draw too fast, or before I hit the release, the barrel end would come away from my leg and complicate matters. After about 100 or so rounds, I swapped out to the paddle attachment.

WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! "Smooth" is the best word I can use. I can't say for sure, but I believe it reduced my "on target" time just by uncomplicating the draw. Sure, it can be unwieldy to take off or put on, but it stays put and is really rock solid.

I'm really glad I bought it.

I love my serpa. If you do not like the paddle attachment or the belt attachment that came with it you might want to look at Eagle Industries "G" Code belt adapter. Very nice solid and it is wider on the belt. The best thing about it is that it is only $9.50

I have found that with the paddle, I can wear mine under a t-shirt and the gun stays close enough to my body to remain concealed. I ussually use it for occasions when I am at work but not wearing a duty belt.

I have one for my XD's and for my 1911. These are awesome holsters. I only use them when I can wear a jacket or coat over a shirt because they do print pretty bad otherwise.

I too have a serpa holster. I use it when attending trainings and what not. Off duty its a bit too bulky and prints too much. I use my supertuck for CC off duty. I also have a LIII duty holster by blackhawk that I LOVE. This is by far the fastest and safest holster I've encountered. Love it.
