Well I put in my Application last January. I was accepted for testing. Two weeks before the written test I got a phone call from the backgrounds department telling me that the testing cycle was over booked and that because I got mine in after some others they were going to move me back to the next cycle, I agreed.
So three weeks ago I get this packet in the mail from the department, they had the written session on the 30th of august instead of the 4th of October. I had a week and a half to complete a 20 page background questioner and have it notarized. On the 30th I reported to the training center for sign in at 7:38AM. The doors were closed at 8:15AM. We then went threw the Nelson-Denny test. After the Nelson-Denny test we were excused for 2hrs while they corrected the test and figured out who was on the first cut. Two hrs later I returned, along with 90 something other applicants. They were hand correcting the test to "rush" the process so that the background and testing process could be completed in time for the next academy. At 3PM we finally got our results, They called a set of names in alphabetical orders. As they passed my name I was all solicitous There was now literally 50% of the applicants left After another hour waiting for those to be graded, there was the second cut. Once again my name was passed over, This time I was sure I was staying in the classroom. After the group that was called was dismissed from the lobby we moved to the next step. We had to answer a 80 question questioner on a bubble sheet. Once we were done with that we turned them in and scheduled the Interviews and were informed when the physical testing was going to take place. I take the physical test on Monday the 8th, and my interview is on Wednesday. the 10th baring I pass the physical. Our physical is an easy 1/4 mile obstacle course that must be completed in under 4 minutes. I will let everyone know how it went Monday night.

Have the interview on Wed, think I should go put a new layer of shine on my shoes, dropped off the suit at the cleaners this morning.

Got my interview in a few hours. picked up the suit from the cleaners put a fresh shine on the shoes. Ironed the shirt and tie. Now if I can just remember how to tie it correctly then I will be all good.

you had a week and a half to get your background questions completed!?!?!?!
I had 24hrs for 16 pages! They let me have 48hrs as I couldn't just hop in the car and deliver it because I lived 2.5hrs away at the time. I had to express it to the IA office by UPS. Good luck in your endeavor though!
