Any LE's out west have prarie dogs to shoot?
There's a group of four of us flatlanders (IA/IL) who'd like to give it a try. One is a PD sharpshooter, 2 of us are small town cops. Any help would be appreciated! thanks- chad

My dad went to Montana looking to shoot prairie dogs a couple years ago. He stopped to buy his one-day hunting license at the game and fish office and asked the lady behind the counter where he could go. She told him to drive out of town, find a dirt road and drive until he saw a dog town.
He did so and had been shooting for about an hour when a rancher drove up to check on him. Apparently my dad was on private property. Anyways, Dad told the rancher how he came to be there and the rancher gave my dad two boxes of .223 and directions to another (larger) dog town on his ranch. If you don't get any bites here, you may just want to start contacting game offices in states you are interested in going to.

Yeah the ranchers love to have people shoot the dogs, there aren't too many around where I live so I'm not much help for finding a specific place to shoot though, sorry.

The local gun club has a dog relocation team that shoots at least once a month. Long long list of ranchers who want the members to come shoot dogs all over Colorado. Start with .22's and gets bigger and farther.
