Inova T4 Flashlight?

So I think I'm going to get this light to carry on my belt. Anyone out there have one / had experience w/ one? Is it about the same size as a stinger? Found it online for $115 w/ both ac and dc chargers...thanks in advance!

I use the Streamlight Strion. Same size and also comes with both chargers. I looked at getting the T4 because it was LED and would last longer, but it is only bright at closer range. Once you get past about 15 feet it spreads out too fast and you cant see anything.

The Strion lasts about an hour on a charge and is EXTREMELY bright. Also has an adjustable flood to spot focus. I would recommend the Strion, probly the most popular belt carry flashlight in my area, rivaled by a close second for the Stinger/Stinger XT.

I had the T4 when it first came out... was a 4 watt LED. Was the brightest at the time, but now there are brighter lights. The T4 is now a 7 watt LED I believe, so if thats the one you are looking at, it should be good to go.

Officers will not carry "metal" flashlights on duty except those prescribed below. Flashlights carried by officers must be constructed entirely of a "non‑metal" material (e.g., plastic). This is to include the lens and end caps, the body, etc. No unauthorized flashlight is to be carried on‑duty by any officer, either on the person or in a vehicle. Any violation of this order will result in disciplinary action.

The only exception to this order is officers may carry the "mini‑flashlights", (e.g., Mini‑Maglite, Surefire Commander or smaller, Stream-light Stinger or smaller). These are small metal flashlights that carry two (2) or three (3) "AA" cell, 3V lithium batteries, or rechargeable batteries and must be less than seven and one half (7.5) inches in length, less than five and one quarter (5.25”) inches in circumference at the widest point, and must be eleven (11) ounces or less in total weight (including batteries). Careful consideration has gone into the review of these flashlights so as to provide comparable candlepower to flashlights already being carried and to in no way jeopardize officer safety. Officers may purchase non‑metallic flashlights on their clothing allotment; however the replacement value for a lost or damaged flashlight will not exceed fifty dollars. If the value of the damaged flashlight exceeds fifty dollars, the officer may request that fifty dollars be credited toward the purchase of a replacement flashlight of greater value. No officer shall use any flashlight as a weapon either defensively or offensively except when authorized under the appropriate use of force policy. Any violation of this order will be subject to disciplinary action.
Hurray for lawyers.

We also have to carry wooden batons, and we'll never have TASERs despite our desperate need for them.

Thumbs up strion rocks

I purchased one with the car cradle and the home charger while back, in broad daylight that thing will blind you. Best 89.00 bucks I've spent in awhile.

Strion Rechargeable Flashlight with both AC (Home) & DC (Car) Cords & 1 Charging Cradle - 74001 from Streamlight-Flashlights.com still on sale.

You guys are taking a screwing on that. I understand the need for policy to regulate aspects of the job and for liability concerns, but come on.

These are flashlights, and are most of the most important pieces of equipment that we carry (especially us night guys). If for nothing else, the long-term durability of the flashlight shows the need for metal IMO. Sounds like your policy came about due to lawsuit(s) regarding BG's being whacked with metal flashlights when the were improvised as impact weapons.

WOW....... what a screwed up policy. They obviously don't put officer safety at the top, where it should be.

I thought my department had some chicken$h!t rules and regs but the flashlight rule takes the cake . I, ah, I don't know what to say. A flashlight is a viable impact weapon and to have that option taken out of the tool belt, well kick me in the jimmy.
