I guess since a renewable resource or something that makes it a big deal. I just know they are doing something different to make their trucks go.

They are learning from 3rd world countries, where the BG are put in the trunk of compact cars
but I am with the "strap them to the roof" Idea, but that is just me Jose |

Local depts have cut way back on patroling and gone to reacting to complaints only. Budgets are getting tighter. We just got a new E85 flex fuel Tahoe, If we stay with the Tahoe platform after this one gets turned in they will be Hybrids.

Wow, that ride is gay. Does it come with "Officer Dangle" bike accessories? It seems a lot of agencies buy in bulk and don't think about quality or common sense. Right before I left the Patrol for Investigations. they purcahsed a lot of Dodge Trucks and put an elaborate camper on the back to hold the people we would pick up. We lovingly called them the, "Dog Catchers" because that is what they looked like. In addition all the Dodge's had really bad transmissions. You would have to be in the gear below it to be in the proper gear. They also tended to slip out of gear. A guy I knew parked at a ranch gate, put in park, ran around the back of the vehicle to unlock the gate, and was promptly ran over by his vehicle as it slipped from Park to Reverse. It seems the equipment guy is always some bean counter who has never done a day of LEO work in their lives.

Rides
We have mostly Tahoe's but...when Chevy was making the change over a year or two ago we bought a whole gaggle of Vic's. They are ok but Ford could do there part and redesign the car. I think 10 years and the same 250 hp is long enough....
