oh geez...give me a break. Just cause this guy was an idiot doesn't mean that it was entrapment. Entrapment is inducing a person to commit an offense that they normally would have not committed. This guy was selling large amounts of marijuana and the officers did not make him do that. Hes the dumb a$$ that came and basically confessed to doing so. Two druggies arrested, thats fine in my book.

yup...that's the stuff. Good, you're under arrest. WTF? Oh well, I'm not mad or upset, just seems shady to "trick" someone like that.

Trick somebody? We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't try to give him his property back. And we don't have a case if the stolen property cannot be positively identified. And we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't arrest drug sellers. So really, what it comes down to is we did our job. If they guy had half a brain, he would have said "nope, I'm not coming to ID it. You can just get rid of it and forget the whole thing" thus saving himself a trip to jail. Better yet, he could have just not reported the burglary at all, and chalked up the loss to the cost of doing business. Either way, our department did nothing shady, tricky, entrapping, or anything other just regular old police work. I don't think any other department would have done anything different. It just would not make sense; much like your comments.

There is no trick involved here - the guy reported illegal drugs that were in his possession as stolen. He then identified the recovered drugs as his, thereby admitting to possession of a controlled substance. Would it have made you feel any better if the LEOs had given his stuff back to him and he sold them to one of your kids? Would that have met your test of 'fairness'? It's this outlook by citizens on the outside, trying to apply their own ideas of 'fairness' without any real understanding of the job of the LEO that makes that job so difficult. Granted - you're entitled to an opinion on any given subject. But, please - try to look at this from the standpoint of the guys and girls out there doing their level best to get trash like this off the streets and out of the lives of people like you. While 'tricks' are part of their stock in trade in dealing with dirtbags like this, there's no trick here. Just good solid police work that resulted in two clowns off the street......
