Very bad things at my Dept. HELP! - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Ok. Hopefully anyone who's been registered on this site for more than a few months know what kind of guy I am. So, hopefully, none of what I'm saying will reflect negatively on me...

My sheriff called me in his office to tell me that he was being indicted on two felony counts. He hasn't stepped down because it wasn't anything that happened in his official capacity. For the most part, there has been an outcry of support for him, but basically it looks like some good ole' boy favors.

How would you guys deal with it, keeping in mind that I'm quietly trying to set myself up to succeed him in office? (I've spoken to the sheriff, and he understands I'm not trying to steal his job, just preparing for the worst for him...)

i mean if you are a friend be there for him and help him like you have been. you cant fight it cause it is out of your hands. sounds like you are doing a good job with it. that is hard to say sorry. but knowing that he will not be runnin in 2010 and you doing what you are doing with out hurting him is awesome good luck to ya hope it all works out

What are the charges? What kind of guy is he? Shady, not shady? I mean, does he have it coming? Or is he just being attacked? If it was me based on the limited information I would say help him make it through this. I mean he was helping out the CCW community by putting on these classes right? Sounds like a good guy based on what I have heard. For now I would say support your dept. and stick together, like a union. I guess look at it this way, could it have happened to you? If so, then he deserves some kind of help and support through this.

More importantly why the hell are you talking about this on the internet? Just think this is beyond bad form. Not saying your a bad guy, just saying this is an inappropriate forum.

I never mentioned his name, and you don't know where I work. So, if you google the name or town, this will never come up. Only people who are in law enforcement or who (hopefully) support law enforcement will offer up advice in this thread, so there you go. Also, this isn't being kept under wraps... these investigators have gone on a witch hunt and are spreading it all over the state. It's all over the news and internet already, so it's not really new news. This section is for brothers in law enforcement to help each other, and although not private, it should be a place we can ask for help. Does anyone else think I'm being inappropriate? If so, my apologies to all and I'll ask admin to remove the thread.

i just dont see how this is inappropriate since you can get a persons criminal record from the court house. just by typeing in his name. there is not right to privecy when it comes to a criminal record unless something was formally taken off of it

I'm not going to say it's inappropriate and I appreciate you coming to your brethren for advice but I do think it's probably not the wisest choice since you are running for Sheriff and as Loves2Shoot said, you will have a bullseye on your back. JMHO.

I'm not keeping it a secret, I'm just not putting ads in the paper saying "vote for me if my boss gets fired."

Also, I have no problem with you guys knowing what's going on... I just don't want others to google him and find this thread..., so for anyone else posting in this thread, please don't post pictures (thanks for editing the pic, but do you care to delete it now?) and please don't post anything about the location. I guess I just hoped that people in this forum room would respect privacy, but I know that a lot of people don't.
