Flashlights!
I'm trying to decide on a flashlight for on my belt...what do you guys use?
These are the ones that I'm looking at: Pelican 7060 Streamlight Stinger LED DS Streamlight Strion Thoughts? Personal experiences? Recommendations? Thanks! PS: I have a G2, but want something rechargeable. If you have other suggestions, let me know!

Strion
I bought a Strion when it first came out and I have never really been that happy with it. The "smart" charger doesn't seem to do a good job and the tailcap button doesn't have a very good feel to it. However, I know someone that just bought one and he seems happy with it and i think streamlight has made some updates to it.
I was looking at the pelican model myself.

My department issued the Stinger, the original 15,000 cp one. Its fine, but I've been looking for something shorter with about the same candle power. Not sure about the LED version. Of the three you list Id probably go with the Strion. Its shorter and slightly less candle power than the stinger.
Read this thread, Watchmaker really seems to know a lot about flashlights. He has posted a lot of info and pictures about a variety of lights. Lights For Ccw And Law Enforcement

I use an Inova T-4 175 lumens and Insight Technology HX2 Typhoon II 170 lumens. The Typhoon II is not even on their website yet.

Buy that w/ some 2500mAH rechargables from Walmart and you'll be right around the $70 mark with a B R I G H T compact light. |

We carry the older Stingers and My only complaint is that it doesnt have a tailcap switch. Other than that its been a solid dependable light that hasnt let me down as long as I charge it every so often.

I have both a stinger and a Sure-Fire G2 Microlon. Those Sure-Fire's are awesome, but you have to use lithium batteries. You get pretty good battery life out of them too, but still, most guys don't keep C123A Lithiums on hand. The stinger is a brand new issue, so the verdict is still out, but so far, I like it. I've heard complaints on the rechargeable battery not holding up well, and if you get the regular stinger instead of the XT (tailcap switch) you get an extra bulb (not an issue if you go LED). The Sure-Fire was the best 32$ I've spent on duty gear.
I feel like you can't have enough lights. I have a Mag-Lite, a Streamlight UltraStinger (super bright and good battery life), the two lights mentioned above (stinger and sf G2)as well as a mini maglite and my favorite, the Streamlight TLR-2 mounted on my XD40 in my Blade-Tech tac holster. If you didn't know any better, you'd think I was afraid of the dark. P.S. I have a Pelican M6, and I was really dissapointed with that light. Even though it has an aluminum body, the tailcap switch sucks. It's been relegated to house duty for looking under the couch and behind the TV.
