The academy I attend says 70% or better on all tests. You get below that 3 times and you are shown the door. I personally think the tests are pretty easy, although there are like 52 of them.

Its the same in CA. My class started with 53 cadets and graduated 32. Most of them were lost to testing, but some were dropped on the range, driving or in final scenarios.

KCPD, 1980: Any score below 70%-any test, any exercise, etc-made you eligible for the infamous 'tap on the shoulder' from the provost, after which folks disappeared and were never heard from again.

We started with 24 and were down to 16 by the 3rd week.Believe we finished with 12. Some were injuries, some were academics and couldn't handle the combination of PT(2-3 hours every morning) crammed classes and tests and keeping up the ^()&^*_@$ 'notebook'. Hell I wanted to quit but couldn't afford to;needed the paycheck. So I stuck it out for the whole ride. It was ugly and painful and sometimes almost fun; I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

I did shoot high expert all the way through, and got to pin that little gold 'NRA Expert' bar 'centered precisely above the seam of the right uniform breast pocket' at graduation.

In Ohio on the state test we had to get at least a 75%. Its was not that bad though. I think I got a 90.

We had to get 70% for regular tests and quizzes. Any certification exams (Radar/Lidar, POST, intoxilyzer, etc) had to be 85%.

If they train you good, and you have self-motivation, you'll do just fine. We started with 33 cadets, and 32 graduated. The one we lost was very early on due to sickness. You CANNOT miss more than 16 hours.

Its easy in some states, hard in others. NYC, they held a class back a couple years ago cause 70% of the whole academy didnt pass. That class stayed in 9 months instead of 6 till they finally graduated. Anyone can pass in nyc, midgets and functional illiterates.

In Utah we have to average 80% on weekly quizzes, then get 80% or better on our certification exams such as SFO and LEO, radar, intoxilizer, etc. For PT we just have marks we have to hit for the 1.5 mile run, push ups, sit ups, etc. Firearms we have to qualify with a 200 out of 250 or better. And on scenarios we are evaluated by local officers and have to just use common sense. We have practical exams for DT and have to get 80% on those as well. We started w/ 51 and are down to 46 w/ 6 weeks to go. We also have two cadets that are taking the academy for the second time as well...
