Adrenalin does funny things to people. After my first hand to hand encounter I shook like a leaf for 15 min., First traffic stop I stammered like a idiot, first time I cuffed a perp he left so much skin in the cuffs that it took 10 min to get them off.

Honestly? It looks like, when he pulled into the parking lot, he was actually on a very slight downgrade. Chances are, when he slammed the shifter in park, it stuck on reverse. By the time that thing was moving across the street, it was going at a pretty fast pace. That's my guess.
