My dept. says that we will carry our credentials with us at all times and will carry a firearm (either uniform duty gun or OD gun).
What else do you guys carry besides the essentials (badge and gun) when OD?

I have an LEO friend who even off duty is on duty.. yeah he carries a radio but it's on a diff channel. He is not local PD he is Fed so I don't know if that changes anything.

4" emergency strike knife, fully charged cell, extra mag for the 1911, 'cuffs (just so some smart a*s lawyer can't say, "Hey, you intended to kill Leroy/Mustafa/etc. because you didn't have any other means to restrain them, isn't that correct!?!").

GLOCK 27 and/or Kel-Tec P32
extra magazine (sometiems)
Banch Made auto-folder knife
Badge wallet with credentials and certification card
regular wallet with everything else and a conceal carry permit

set of black ASP hindge cuffs

My most important piece of OD gear isn't my Glock 19, or badge, it's my cellphone.

True. Calling 911 is a form of "doing something". But, you never know these days. I have a set of ASP Aluminum cuffs that weigh next to nothing and thought about carrying that with me.

FLASHLIGHT!!! if you carry a firearm, you should carry a flashlight.

no heavy cuffs, keep the zip ties handy, tho

i have a friend that has a radio on him, OD, that drives me nuts lol
