If you train with Sims, I just finished Simunitions Instructor School and was assured by the instructors that an XD conversion will be out by spring '08. They have just finished the Sig P220 and are about done with the S&W M&P and the XD is next on the list.

If you are attending a school put on by Simunitions in the near future, make sure to bug the instructor about getting the XD conversion out. We need to do this training with what we carry; that's one of the points behind the whole Simunitions thing.

I carry a P2000 so this doesn't really effect me, but man, I had a BLAST during the Simunitions training at my academy. Good times, and even better training.

If you get a chance, go to the instructor course. Its a three day course and a day and a half of it is running scenarios. The instructor course is generally full firearms and defensive tactics intructors, so you're there with squared away folks.

I did a week-long simunitions training with a local Police department and a few SRT guys. It was absolutely awesome! I wish they did them every weekend! Anyway, the only two pistols they had were the Glock 17 and the Beretta 92F. I asked about the XD and was informed that they didn't have them yet but looked forward to getting them (who knows when).

We trained with MILES gear when I was in. Simunitions is about the most realistic thing out there. If you get a chance to train with it, jump on it!

I volunteered to be a bad guy for a local SWAT team during their sims training. Hey, I get to pop shots at cops at get away with it... what could be more fun.

I know, I'll get lit up if pull a trigger, but the TO said "you're the bad guy, do what you want"

I've volunteered to be both the gunman and the 'victims' a few different times for local training for school shooting type scenarios and night tactics.. Being on the receiving end of a team in a pitch black hallway is intense... Much respect for those guys..

The first gun they gave me as the gunman was a revolver that didn't even work though, I didn't even get a shot off before I was lit up.

we train with sims all the time, but we use the glock training pistols, which of course dont fit in any of our holsters unless you carry a glock......if the XD conversion isnt too silly in cost, I'd get one myself......

we all have the M-4 sim uppers to convert during training, and DAMN they hurt flying out of the M-4.....

Wait until you catch the new 5.56mm round. Has a standoff of 6 feet instead one foot like the 9mm. Needless to say, they sting a little. The upside is, its just a bolt swap to convert so if you have optics or tac lights on your upper, you don't have to change those out too.
