Duty gloves
What are you guys using for search gloves? I just bought a pair of Hatch Street Guard kevlar gloves. They are nice but I would like something a little thinner but still have the cut resistance.

Turtle Skin Patrol
Neoprene shell, leather palm with textured grip on palm and all except trigger finger, Aramid liner throughout the entire glove (front, back, around all fingers). Very thin, very flexible. Cut and stab resistant (needles won't pass the tight Aramid layer). Galls has them (GL252) as well as LAPolice. Nice glove and cost effective (paid less than $20 for them).

Thanks hacker15. I read up on Turtleskin also. The Duty model sounds good too but I have a feelin' they'll be thicker than the Patrol model since it provides better puncture resistance. I'll scope out the Patrol..

I use the Blackhawk Hellstorm gloves. They have double velcro and good wrist support, and are pretty pliable, as well. I'm pretty sure that they have a punture resistant or -proof glove, too.

I use neoprene mostly (don't remember what brand I bought) but when I am working the party&bar patrol, I wear leather. The leather is better protection for your hands in a fight.

When you first get them they are a little stiff, but after you wear them for a while they are great. I use them as search gloves and even wear them when it just gets too cold since I might as well have something on my hands to keep them warm, and I will want them anyways should I have to go hands on/search. I dont think you are going to have much luck finding a pair of gloves that are cut/puncture resistant that are as thin as you want. You have to take the good with the bad when it comes to that. Best of luck....But I would still recommend a pair of Turtleskins in one way, shape, or form. I know alot of guys who wear them and have never heard a complaint.

I use the same gloves and I agree they are too thick, but I work with PSYCH and Drug abusers alot so I dont mind the extra protection, Lots of Hep C floating around.

I use 5.11 Tac-AK gloves. They have kevlar for puncture protection which is a big plus for me as I work mainly narcotics interdiction and K-9 duty. They're also comfortable for wearing for a long period of time.
