How Long to wait?
Hey guys/girls,
Recently, I submitted a few applications to a few different federal agencies. One advertised they were hiring at a rapid pace and filling positions all across America. How long will I wait until I hear back from them? I only ask this because there is a written exam scheduled next month for the one I am really interested in and hope/pray they contact me soon. Is it likely that they will contact me even if they don't want me? Any help is appreciated and if you wanna know more info. on me or the situation to help verify things, just ask. Thanks! |

If they dont want you, the best that you will probly get would be a letter pretty much so telling you "go pound sand" in a bit nicer way.
If you have heard that there is going to be testing for a position, I would let it be for a little while, then give their general office a call in a bit and just tell them that you applied, heard of a test date for the position, have not heard anything yet, and was just wondering if they have sent out notices (or whatever they are doing) yet to candidates as far as the test date and time. This way you stay informed, but dont seem like a pest. Just make sure that you keep it simple and dont start asking too many questions that they cant answer.
