I saw this posted on another forum.

Luckily the CO had his weapon on him while sitting on his front porch, and the shooter was a bad shot. I am sure he is looking for a new place to live after this.

A guy I knew from high school was killed like this. He was a Deputy somewhere in Texas, and while off duty he was murdered while mowing his mothers lawn.

Stay safe, and alert. And my wife calls me paranoid. I wonder why?

damn, this is why its department policy that we change in and out of our uniforms at the station so nobody see's us comming out of our homes in uniform. I've heard horror storries from some of the older guys who have done drug/narc work that had the gangs and thugs find out they were a cop and where they live. my lt. had one send pictures of his wife and kids comming home from work/school and sent them to him at the police department.. needless to say that S.O.B. was taken care of and the lt. moved. but that is something i always worry about

Some folks must have wires crossed, revenge on someone that punished you for doing wrong never made much sense. Its a shame so many people are screwed up in the head and dont know how to interact with normal people. Sad sad sad...

Glad to see that the CO is safe and was not hurt.

I'm also glad to see that he was carrying, was able to defend himself, and the BG got what he deserved.

Sounds like he is probly a wannabe gang banger who told his friends he was going to kill a cop, and didnt have the balls so he went for an off duty CO instead.

Stay safe brothers and sisters, and watch your six (or in this case your 2:00).

Shot in the ankle but he still stood right up, chased, and returned fire. What a trooper. He didn't miss a beat.

Good for him...I do the same thing down here in Texas and that is why I got my CHL. Live in a smaller town, and only work in the county jail, but that is where all the cracked out people go before they go to prison anyway. I can't even say how many times I have been receiving someone, had to fight them tooth and nail, been off on my rdo's for two days and then see the crazy bast*** walking through the mall, looking at me all crazy. That's all right, he would only make that mistake once, before I sent him some 230 gr airmail.

Give the guy his gun back, take him out for pizza and send him back to work.

Drop the perp in a hole and fill..........

That's what I say. Get him his gun, and some pizza for his troubles. One less scum bag on the streets. 2 outta 3 isn't bad on a bad ankle, chasing a guy down.
