This guy gets my vote for Officer of the Year

This guy was shot in the face with a shotgun and still chased the shooter for a block.

Wow, that'll leave a mark! Glad they caught 'em.

Did the article really have to end with:
Quote:
"This is a classic example of the problem associated with the proliferation of weapons on our streets," Street said.
How about "This is a classic example of the problem associated with kids not having any respect." Street said.

That officer has brass ones. I'm amazed and thankful that he didn't suffer more severe injuries or get killed. I can't imagine what it must be like for any officer's family to learn that their loved one has been shot. My heart goes out to all of them and to every other LEO and their families on this forum and off.

The last line of the article tweaked my pro-2A sympathies, though:

Quote:
"This is a classic example of the problem associated with the proliferation of weapons on our streets," Street said.
The line should read: "This is a classic example of the problem associated with addressing symptoms, rather than tackling the root problems that create the criminal element and lack of regard for human life."

Yeah - that last line is a dead giveaway - the ultra liberal mayor uses this incident to plug his anti-2nd agenda. Wonder if he's ever heard of 'getting tough on criminals', as opposed to 'take all the guns away from law abiding citizens'? No - that approach just might work........

What a joke - the citizens of Philly should rise up and recall this fool.

The Police made one error.

They took the dirt bag alive!

My vote fore LEO of the century is the Florida Sheriff who when asked why they shot a cop killer 68 times said, "We ran out of bullets."

Nice job brother. When you hear a person talk being mentally tough in a shooting situation and keep telling yourself that you are ok, are going to keep fighting, and are not just going to lay down and die...Here is your poster child.

Glad to hear that it sounds like he is going to pull through.
