Unhappy Phoenix has lost another of our finest

Really damn sad.....the only plus is that it looks like we won't have to bother with a trial. Detectives are fairly sure the POS responsible was killed a short distance away....

RIP Officer Erfle, and prayers sent for the family and fellow officers. This city just seems to keep getting more and more violent.

I just heard about this on the way home today. Stopped for jaywalking but likely had a rap sheet a mile long. Tragic.

This city has far outgrown my love for it. I've been here since '76, but the time has come for me to move on.

God speed.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

Well...this will come as a shock...but it turns out that the asshole was an illegal alien who had been deported a year ago for a theft conviction. They should have dragged his ass behind a horse with a rope around his feet all the way back to the border, rather than put him on a bus.

I hate that I harbor so much hatred for this particular group of people, because I'm not one to hate. But I seriously doubt I would shed a single teardrop if every IA ended up just like that scumbag.

Hope he has a nice trip home in his frickin' pine box, cuz I know he ain't comin' back again.

Hmmm...pine box instead of a bus works for me too.

What the crap... He had a MISDEMEANOR WARRANT?

What makes these people think that killing anyone just to not go to jail for something like that is a good idea.

I simply can not belive someone would do something like that...

To bad the "victim" in the car he stole wasn't carrying....

At least he is dead... Justice....

A misdemeanor warrant AND a concealed weapon that would have not gone over too well with the judge I guess is what he figured.

Dead is good in his case.

Here's what I found from another source on my local AZ forum:

"The man didn't have identification but gave officers a name and birth date that Erfle ran through a police computer. That search turned up a misdemeanor warrant for shoplifting out of Tucson.

Police would later find out the man hadn't given his real name. Martinez likely used an alias because he was trying to hide the fact he had felony warrants for aggravated assault and false imprisonment, stemming from a 2006 domestic-violence incident.

But the officers didn't know any of that and tried to arrest him on the misdemeanor warrant.

That's when Martinez shoved Erfle to the ground, pulled a gun and fired multiple times. Police said it all happened in a matter of seconds."

Multiple felony warrants + having already been deported once would make somebody fight. Yeah...they're just here to work....whatever.
