Need more of this - the public seems to think that TASERs kill. This is fed by the likes of Sharpton and Jackson, with their never ending bulls*it....

Good demonstration, that officer (sgt.) is very well spoken too.

I wish we were issued TASERs. It would be a whole lot safer for everyone, way safer than using our batons.

Don't mean to be harsh, but just looks like a blatant demonstration of stupidity to me. Also has no bearing on whether some people are actually killed by their being Tasered.

If you carry a TASER, you have to go through training. In most departments, being hit with a TASER is part of the training. The assumption here is that you're seeing someone who will carry one. I've carried one and had the training and been hit with it. It's not fun, but after the training, I understand pretty much what the person I shot at will experience. I don't think it's "a blatant demonstration of stupidity" - it's reality based training and quite useful for any LEO who is required to carry one.

While some people, maybe even you, could be killed with a taser (only situation I can see it killing someone is if they had a pacemaker). I'm willing to bet 100 to 1 that if you were given the choice to be shot with a taser or .40, that you'd choose the taser. |
