What do you carry for a second firearm?
Does your department allow you to carry a 2nd weapon?
Which Firearm does your agency allow you to carry? Where do you carry it? ankle, underarm etc. |

I'm not an officer, but at the last agency I worked at (as a civilian), officers carried baby glocks, xd subcompacts, Walther PPK/S's, pretty much anything they wanted. Where they carried it depended on their build and the gun. That's all

When I was still on, I carried a S&W Model 60, which is a SS, 5 shot .38 2" barrel revolver. None of the semi autos they permitted, were really compact enough to carry as a bug.

Yeah, a Remington 870 above my head and a soon-to-be RRA AR-15 elsewhere.

One of three (XD 4" .40, S&W Improved Sigma .40, Ruger P97DC .45) as a duty weapon (qualified with all three). Department could care less which one I have on at any shift, as long as it's got a 4" barrel, is 9 mm or greater, and I have 2 extra mags for it when on duty.
Carry a Taurus 9 mm PT111 Pro as a BUG. Got a 5.11 holster shirt in XXL, wear it OVER the ballistic vest (with UA under the vest). Carry the PT111 on the left side and an extra mag in the right pocket. Works out really well - the 5.11 snugs the armor down nicely, doesn't ride up and hides the BUG under the shirt. Found it VERY COMFORTABLE on even the hottest days.
