What sort of purpose are you looking for? Duty wear? Under civvies? Weekend wear? What class are you looking for? Will you be wanting trauma plates? Will you be expecting to be returning fire wearing it? If so, what sort of stance do you use?

Sorry for the questions, but a bit more information would help narrow the field.

On another note, I've heard wonderful things about the new DragonSkin Armor. But, don't know if they're retail or not yet.

Whatever work you plan on doing, I suggest Second Chance. They have a great product and stand behind it. They have reps all over that will personally size you up and get the right cut. If you ever need it adjusted or any carrier problems they fix it. Iv'e used them for 9 yrs.

I have a friend that was in on the test of the Dragonskin for his unit and they didn't get it because yes it stopped the round as you have seen on TV but it gave extrema blunt force trauma to the body. They even put some cow bones(with about 3-4 inches of meat over the bone and wrapped in cloth) under the dragonskin and a 223 round broke the bones. I think that the Dragonskin is good stuff but it need some more testing before I trust my life to it.

Check out Galls - http://www.galls.com/category2.html?...talog&cat=2992

Everything you could want at prices that will not break the bank.

I use the BP329 (http://www.galls.com/style.html?asso...BP329&cat=3011)

Level IIIA raised to Level III with stab plates and trama plate. Light, easy to wear, and easy to maintain.

"Course, you need to determine what you're using it for - mine is duty in a warm/cool environment (mostly indoors) but there are several different makes/models up here that might just fill the bill for you.

Just remember there is no such thing as "Bullet Proof" only bullet resistant.

As the other said it depends on your application. Are you going to be using this stuff overseas or state side. Overseas you can have bulky stuff that goes over your clothing and those can offer more protection if you are state side you need something a little more concealable.
