Oh and a heads up, it's important that you don't use a product with a flammable propellant if you plan on tazing them. That'd be bad.

Yeah, I know they make a taser friendly freeze +p, and I assume they have similar for other brands.

Kinda know the feeling. The OC ran down the bridge of my nose while I was running the course. Little drop of it was hanging on the end of my nostril when I took a deep breath at the end of the course. Needless to say, try not to snort the direct liquid form either.....I was a hurtin unit for a while.

They don't call it the DEVELS PEEEEE ( not sure if I could use the other word) for nothing. I had to do the same as Alaskapoop did. I spent 4 yrs there as an MP. We certified with the AHP there.

I never agreed with spraying LEO's in training, or tazing them either.....its gonna hurt, but the truth is, it doesn't affect a lot of people, if the officer is sprayed and it hurts or incapacitates him in training, a false sense of security is established when its used on the street, the officer, remembering his training and the pain of the OC is going to have a super "oh-sh*t" moment when it has no affect on a BG......then the "holy sh*t", now what do I do sets in.......

IMH and professional opinion, OC sucks as a tool in most situations, and Ive seen it fail to do the job 50% of the time, unless your spraying some wuss that barely needed to be sprayed anyway..... the tazer is a better tool, but we are now seeing more and more instances where its not working 100% on highly motivated individuals, especially ones with fighting skills........tools have their place, but these LEO's better have plan B, C and D ready to go immediatley when A fails misserably.........

I have had much better success with OC than you have. What do you guys use?
Freeze +P works great. Def-Tec not so much. It does matter because same brands do suck.

I can't speak about the Tazer...we don't use/issue them.

The same can be said of your pistol.

I understand what your saying, but hardcore, highly motivated individuals can and will fight thru any OC brand. to stop those people, you need to remove their oxygen, consiousness or life, no OC does that.....I do agree, some OC is almost useless, while some are decent........and more coppers get sprayed directly or indirectly than bad guys do.......I hate the stuff, and dont even carry it in any capacity. I'd rather go hands on that rely on that stuff.......

The point of being sprayed in traing is to see if it affects you and your reactions. I would hate to not know my reactions if someone sprayed me. I wouldn't know what to do. I have been sprayed and tazed for certification. I'm glad I know my reactions to them both, if I seen someone point a tazer or OC spray at me I would hope I could deploy my weapon first. They both affect me and I would be screwed if they hit me with them. I would defend myself as needed.
