Started the Reserve Academy!
After a long time of waiting, my class finally started! I am pretty excited to learn about law enforcment. It is 233 hours of class time, which involves all the hands-on training. One of the best things about it is I can carry my own firearm! Haven't bought the XD yet, but I have been planning to for quite some time. Last night one of the off-duty officers was carrying an XD Sub .40. I asked him how he liked and he didn't seem too jazzed about it. Although he did say he bought it, put a couple drops of lube in it, racked the slide a couple times, then qualified with a 93. Not bad for shooting it for the first time. He said that they carry Sig .40s at the local PD (I am going through a University Division of the local PD). Anyway, they buy the Sigs for like $400 a piece. Now I am tempted to see if I could buy on through the department.
Any tips you could give regarding LE or the Reserve Academy would be appreciated. |
