Phoenix cops?
Any Phoenix cops out there? As certian aspects of my life are settled, I have been looking at possibly starting the hiring process for the Phoenix Police. The first step is a written test and physical test which I am considering taking in mid march.

My BIL is a Maricopa county sheriff. There is a lot of jobs in metro phoenix for cops. Agencies are competing for people.
Edited for spelling.

every agency in the phoenix area is in serious competition for talent to fill their positions.
if i were you i would check pay rates benefits and residency restrictions. some departments require city residence or that you live withing a certain distance. all the departments are about equal concerning equipment. the sheriff's office is good if you like rural work areas as some of their AO's are on the outskirts of the county. Dps/highway patrol is another excellent option. they pay well and are also needing officers. the options here are that AZ is a beautiful state with vast areas of almost every climate/terrain you can think of. research is the key. |

Bump... I actually didn't end up applying to Phoenix, but a suburb of Phoenix instead. Yesterday I got a call and a conditional offer. Assuming I jump through the last couple of loops, I start on November 12th. From application date to start date it will be just under 5 months. I am pretty excited about this.
