One of a LEOs greatest fears. Not for ourselves as we chose this life and profession. What utter COWARDS to stalk then ambush someones wife!!
I don't have words to express the vile individuals that were responsible. It is a triumph that they are dead, I hope they suffered greatly.

I live about 45 miles from the scene of the crime. I've been following this story closely, as it's all over the Tallahassee and Dothan tv news. Some of the reports say that the sheriff was at home when his wife arrived; others say that he came to her aid, along with the deputies.

Now that is a true tragedy. I don't know how I would respond to something like that happening to a member of my family, and I pray to God that I never have to find out. We make a lot of enemies in our line of work, but I have never heard of something as cold blooded as this. Even the criminals of yesterday had the sense not to involve our family members in their run-ins with us.

All we can do is pray for the Sheriff and his family, that they have the strength to get through something like this.

Sounds like a lot of the story is missing which led up to the events and shooting. Makes me wonder why if she though she was being followed she did not drive to met the deputy or go to the sheriffs office.

Update from last night's late news: Chief Scumbag was under investigation for killing his own wife four years ago. Assistant Scumbag was felon who met Chief Scumbag at, get this, a church function.

Sheriff's wife noticed Scumbags following her and called sheriff. While on phone with husband/sheriff, she screams. Investigating deputy is shot upon arrival. Other deputies arrive; gunbattle breaks out, and Scumbags are killed.
