I am very sorry that this good man died at the hands of a BG, but there is a lesson here. A wallet isn't worth a life. I used to teach self-defense and this was one of the lessons I drilled into my students' heads. Don't resist an armed aggressor unless you must to protect your life...not your property. I suggested carrying a throw away wallet with a few dollars in it so you would have something to hand to a BG...anything to diffuse the situation and give them a reason to leave you unharmed. Of course, I wasn't on the scene when this LEO lost his life so I won't attempt to second guess the situation. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

All of that over an eFF'in wallet!? BS!
Stories of officers getting injured or killed in the line of duty always upsets me, but you never hear of an officer killed off duty. My hats off to him and his family...
