Thank you LEOs

I just wanted to thank all of the LEOs, especially (sp?) those in MI,IN,KY,TN, and FL. I had a great trip through all of your states this past week while traveling well over the posted speed limits. I tried to go the speed limits, but you should change your signs to indicate that they are a reccommendation not actual limits. It was great being passed by EVERYBODY while I was traveling the posted speeds.

Thanks again,

I don't suppose you travelled the I-24 corridor through TN and KY did you? The state police from both TN and KY work that stretch of road pretty vigorously and I've only had good luck keeping my speed within 8mph of the posted limit. I travel a section of it every workday and all the way from Nashville to southern Illinois at least once every month or two.

Regardless, congrats on not getting caught.

You're welcome.
To be honest, I can't take all the credit though.

You see, I was busy with that pesky SWAT call-out and those other silly little holiday domestic calls with houses full of relatives visiting each other. Funny thing, they get to drinking and figure out that they really don't like each other very much...then they start fighting and call us (of course, it goes without saying that they eventually realize that they don't like us either).
We had one guy that decided it would be neato to play Russian Roulette with his Dad.
He lost...that .38 Special made a mess of the Christmas decorations (and no, I'm not kidding about this).

Anyway, sorry for rambling.
I really didn't notice how fast you were traveling through my state. I had other things on my mind.
At least you tried to do the speed limit.
I am glad to read that you made it home safe and sound, though.

Thanks again,
come through Ohio and they'll nail you. Ohio i think has the highest ticket rate in the nation. Its funny how all the little municipalities prey on the puny stretch of the same highway that runs through their city limits for like half a mile.

Folks don't care much for cops... Unless they need you and then you are there best friend!
I also love to be reminded that they care enough to provide job security...

There are some nice sections of I-80 through PA where u can let it lose. Mainly the really rural areas. U can see the speed lines painted on the highway so they can track you from the air. I usually hit about 85-90 mph heading to NYC. Only at night though. My gear ratio is pretty high, so i can still pull pretty quickly even in 5th gear.

Folks get up in arms about this, but for the highways that are not limited access and going right through a small town, the cops have to be super strict to save their own children. In some small towns, the highway is also main street with folks driveways leading up to it. In Golden Meadow LA, a lot of kids got run over by hot shot drivers driving like bats out of hell. Now the cops there are super strict, and everybody goes crying to the new media about the unfair cops. But the Sheriff and Judge (who are brothers) don't give a damn, because they got kids in the cemetery to remind them why they have to be tough.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

If you're in Iowa and < 8mph over you're pretty safe so long as you're on the interstate. Highways and in towns is a different story though. My father was pulled over for going 2mph over in city limits once upon a time. Sounds to me like a bored officer trying to make quota. Anywho.. I just follow the rules and never exceed the limit by 5mph. Sometimes I do unintentionally since I don't have cruise control, but if I realize I'm going >70mph in a 65 I get off the gas.
