N.Y. shooting

I'm sure you all have heard about the guys getting shot by the police and the public is pissed. but most articles i have read about it just say "the police shot a group of un armed black men on the groom's wedding day"

yea... well when i finally do find a REAL article that goes into actual detail the guys had a confrontation with the under cover officers and one made a reference to having a gun, and hit the cop with his car, then rammed the unmarked police vehicle. If i was in thier place, I would have shot too.
I just love how the media like to leave key details out so they can cause a stir

I'm also curious to find out the 'rest of the story'. Press makes this out to be very one-sided...against the police. Certainly there is more to this story.

i petition to create a law that when caught in the act of a crime, you give the notion of "innocent till proven guilty". When that happens, whether you are a cop or civilian, you should be able to act as judge and jury.

example, guys who rob a bank and the run from cops, hit 3 cars, kill someone in the process of running, finally pull over cuz they don't have tires, and then resist arrest. If he even motions for his wallet without being instructed, anyone should have the right to shoot him. Guilty by action under the circumstances.

that would defuse any media hype or public opinion. hate our soft and twisted socity regarding justice. people are f'd up.

So that means we should have summarily executed those cops?

We only know part of the story, but I can think of no extenuating or mitigating factors on how one can unload 2 clips (31 shots) at someone who isn't firing back. None whatsoever.

Anyone catch a photo of Uncle Al Sharpton standing over the bereaved mother of the poor young almost groom? Trust Al to never miss a photo op.....

And VAXDGUY, you obviously have never been (and never will be) involved in any aspect of law enforsement.

In point of fact, I begin to doubt if you even own a gun (of any description) that can't be filled at Mom's kitchen sink.

Okay, Einstein, tell about about the extenuating or mitigating factors I seem to be missing judging by all of facts we've seen (you did note that qualifier, right?)? 31 shots and no defined target? I'll be waiting.

And no, I'm not in law enforcement, but at least I can spell it.

using a car as a weapon is just the same as using a gun in the eye's of the law. He hit the cop, then rammed 2 unmarked police cars, any LEO would have opened up untill that car stops moving under those circumstances. I have never been in a deadly force situation where it was used, and I am very happy for that. But in such a situation, My goal is to make sure innocent people live, the BG is not my prirority by shooting the driver of that car they may have avoided something potentially much worse. they may have decided to run, and hit a car full of kids, Those men made the choice when they said they had a gun, ran over a cop. and rammed to police cars. It is a very sad story, i wont dispute that, But It was not the fault of the Police, it was the idiot who decided to turn his car into a weapon and use it.

In a related matter, I was listening to Neal Boortz today. He had John Stossel on the air and they were discussing this incident. John actually said in response to the one officer that shot 31 rounds... "I don't see why they have these kinds of weapons (referring to the police). They should go back to the days where they have revolvers and let special tactical units have the bigger firepower."

Neal replied that if they didn't, they would be outgunned by every thug on the street. John's response..."come on, how many times do they encounter full blown gun battles where more than 6 shots are required?"

Un..friggin..believable!!! Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the actions taken in the incident here, I can't believe that some dumbass, journalistic sh*t-for-brains would be so incredibly stupid to say such things.

ok, Let him be the one to break the news to a family that thier loved one had died because He ran out of ammo.... does The North hollywood shootout ring a bell to anyone?? because if if some crazed lunatic with an AK with a drum mag goes loose in a highschool or bank or some other public place. going against that kind of firepower with a damn wheelgun would be scuicidal. what a jackass... And I dont want to hear any of that shot placement bull**** either, when somebody is trying to kill you and bulletts are flying in your direction, most people cant keep a cool head and sit there and take carefull aim. I sure as hell would never work anywhere where i could only carry a revolver

Good idea...take away our high capacity, high powered weapons. That way, after we use our 6 shots, the bad guy can unload on us with his 32 rd mag....
