Question for LEO's

Has anyone had to use their XD .45 in self defense or offense? I'm interested in how this gun performs in the field.

That much firepower should be pretty intimidating.

There have been weapons on the market that shoot the same caliber and have the same capacity such as the Glock 21(14 rounds) and Para-Ordanances P14(15 rounds), the nice thing that Springfield did is put it in a package where it doesn't feel like your trying to hold onto a 2 x 4.

Firepower? From a handgun?

lol, funny replies.

just as an afterthought.... might look at the 40 until the 45 subcompact is available. I carry the 40 4" on my belt, 40 sub as a BUG on my vest and have an additional 40 in the vehicle available to me. All of the mags are interchangable.

I like the 45 but because of the above reason I have held off until the sub is available.

There is no subcompact XD .45 available...they made a compact .45, which is the service model with a grip chop, but they're having problems making the subcompact feed correctly, just like any other sub .45
