Re: Service use

Thanks all. The drop is most likely going to be my pick. I carry a highride for my wheel gun when doing security and run into the same problems. Luckly I do not have to carry it that much well almost never now. I am at a university and we do not carry.
On another note has anyone heard, held, or shot the HK P2000. I jsut read about it in a recent issue of "Law and Order" magizne (cover story). It seems to be in the line of the UPC compact. I have only held a full size HK and didn't like it at all. I felt it was bigger than the glock, in my hands that is.

Re: Service use

There is a thread over on glock talk concerning the P2000. For almost $900.00, I can live without it!

Re: Service use

Jonny,

Gotta agree with you on the armpit. I'm 5'5" and when I strap on a high ride with my duty belt the butt is up towards my armpit and digs into my ribs. I have no choice in the matter since both the revolver and holster are company gear. The only thing good about the high ride is that it doesn't seem to get pushed up by the van seat when I'm on patrol.

Re: Service use

Patrolling in vans? I need a patrol vehicle like that, has S L E E P written all over it Then again might look funny sitting outside of a school in a van when doing school duty!

Good news is they just approved leg holsters and bdu's. Black bdu pants like the nylon kind and black long sleeve shirt (for under the vest) for winter and summer wear is same but lighter material bdu and a short sleeve shirt. Its going to be like all day SWAT. Just kidding, well no I'm not I'm just waiting for them to issue helmets, I know some of the guys need them!

Later, Jonny B

Re: Service use

Jonny,

I work for the IDOC. We use vans instead of cars for inmate transport, so that's what we use for our perimeter patrols.
