Which XD?

I just finished my 6th week (of 26) in the academy and am thinking about what to carry when I get done. My agency has a very open firearms policy so this is kinda difficult. They issue the SW99 in 40 S&W which I can't stand. I already own a Glock 22, but I really like the way the XD's feel in my hand. I want to buy an XD in the next couple months, send it off to Robar to get NP3'd, put on a set of Heinie sights and have it ready to go for when I start FTO in September. The only problems I'm having with this is:

a) 40 S&W or 45 ACP
b) 4" or 5"

I'm also kinda bummed about the Safariland 6280 w/no light being the only holster available (my agency only approves Safariland basketweave). Do any of you guys have a picture a 5" XD in a 6280? What do you think?

I carry a 4" XD-45 in a blade-tech holster. The holster won't pass muster if you must have basketweave. I went with th 4" because it is slightly more comfortable while seated in a patrol car.

Definately get the 45ACP. I'm sure you can handle the recoil.
If you can carry the 5" comfortably. Get the 5". I shot one and the recoil wasn't much more than my 4" XD9.
