An inmate serving a life sentence for murder escaped from the USP in Pollock, LA wednesday by hiding in a pallet of mailbags being hauled out of the prison. Inmate Richard Lee McNair is serving life in prison for the murder of a truck driver in North Dakota. He also has numerous escapes and attempted escapes. He was later stopped and questioned by a local police officer, but due to the poor quality of mug shots that were distributed to local law enforcement, he was not properly identified and was allowed to leave. A manhunt continues in the Pineville and Tioga, LA area. that is a nightmare. if one of my inmates ever escaped, i dont think i could live that down. we must do our best to control our complacentcy.
