leos in alabama

Okay, for the last five years i've dreamed of becoming a leo. Only problem is i can't seem to pass Montgomery's "psyc exam." i guess i'm TOO law abiding. so my question is, is there any departments in the central alabama (1-2hr drive from montgomery) that are hiring, with a "small" contract. preferably of around a year?

thanks in advance

You ought to try the Jefferson County Personel Board on 8th Ave No in Birmingham. It serves as a clearinghouse for applicants. The Board has most of Jefferson County's municipalities as members. I would try their website at www.jcpb.com(I think that's the website). It's a great way to put in one application and several prospective employers look at it. Also Alabama law obligates a new officer to a period of 2 years to the municipality that initially sends him/her to the academy.

If it helps it took me about 8 years to become employed with a police dept. I now have more fun than I've had in a while and really enjoy the work. The wait was worth it.
