How to store soft body armor?
Howdy,
Just got a Class IIIA vest and will be storing it. I know not to hang it from a hanger and store it flat. Should I put it in a plastic storage bag? Do I need to put any dessicant or the like in the bag? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Kevin "For a rainy day." |

If you bought it new, just leave it in the box. If not, just lay it flat in a cool dry area where it can breathe.
In all honesty though, its not going to do you any good unless you are wearing it.

You can always try something like one of these.

Howdy,
Thanks for the replies! That Gall's carrier is perfect! I'll be ordering one up. I got the vest for when the SHTF. I won't be wearing it everyday. Got it cheap and it's pretty much new. Doesn't smell at all. Thanks! Kevin "Taking it out of the bag now..." |

just curious, but in what kind of situations are you planning on using it?

Hurricanes, Terrorists, Bird Flu, Illegal Immigrants... Just nice to have if it all falls apart. Oh, and I got the Gall's hardcase. It's great! Put the vest in, a packet of dessicant and snapped it shut. It's happily living under my bed now. Kevin "Paranoid Android." |
