Whats the matter someone write you a ticket for only 20 over. You think its a easy job put in your application or quit your bitching. Scum comes in all colors around here its mostly meth freeks, alot of those are white middle class kids, doesnt mean they wont kill you for enough money for their next high. The grass isnt always greener in the country.
What I'm saying is that the cops would rather catch the small fish misdemeanors because it brings in revenue for the city via fines than catch the real felons and have to make the state foot the bill for hard time. It doesn't seem to be cost effective to put an end to a gangsters career or domain. If I were elected Sheriff I WOULD make the streets of my county safe for all decent citizens. My deputy force would be a cross between ROBOCOP and JUDGE DREDD. No fat cops. No smoking cops. No sit-on-your-@$$ and flirt with the waitress all day cops. If you commit a crime in Warhead County, you will not enjoy your prison hitch. The tax I put on comitting a crime will make the death penalty seem like a reward.

Lemme tell you a secret war, it makes no difference in my pay if I catch 20 speeders or spend the day on a drug bust. You just take what you can get. I've had weeks where I've done nothing but put douche bags in jail. And other weeks, I can't find anything to do except chase loose dogs and write people tickets for expired tags.

You are either 16 or sadly misinformed about how policing works. Either way, I suggest a ride-along.

You've been watching too many movies guy! It sounds like your problems are with all the bleeding heart lawyers and judges out there. You can't just pick people up without just cause nor should you be able to fire someone just because you don't like the fact he smokes.

Neighborhood

Sounds like your only solutions are as stated, video (good tool), MOVE asap for safety of your mother, and look seriously into better street lighting on your street (if you've had the problems you describe it shouldn't be too hard to get the city to install some street lights), put the liability on the city and keep "bugging" them until its installed.

Warhead"z: I don't know what planet you've been residing on("Tree-Hugger Utopia"?), but you obviously know nothing about what "police" really do or what their job's entail. Too much "TV" and "Left-Wing" associates I presume. Education and a grasp of reality is sometimes a slow process, and sometimes never comes to some. Oh well, I wish you the best and hope you never need us "LEO's" help.

Thank you for your response though, and for reading my post.
I'm not an expert by any means, but most digital cameras CAN record infrared to some extent, Point your tv remote at your web cam and push buttons, you'll be able to see the infrared light the remote sends to the tv. You should be able to set up the web cams in the window and get or build an infrared illumination device to put outside or something.

I'm sorry for all the bull**** you've had to go through, reading your story made me physically ill. I hope this comes to a satisfactory end not a tragic one.

One street light is ~$3,000. Convincing the city to light a street that takes multiple lights is harder than it sounds. This doesn't include the "lighting plan" or engineering, etc.
