Had my interview and ride along (again) today..

So today has been a fantastic day! I had my interview at the Sheriffs Office at 9am today. I believe it went really well and hopefully I'll get a call in the next week or so.

My 2nd ride along was great! And hopefully I'll get to do a night shift ride along. I almost got tazed today too! Some of the deputies were getting qualified and the Captain asked if I wanted to take a ride on it. You should have seen the look on their faces when I said yes. But I didn't get tazed since I'm not employed as of yet.

Thanks to all of those whom have been very helpful and provided encouragement!

B.

I guess its me being lazy but MAN I LOVE 3RD SHIFT! 3RD SHIFT = LESS BOSS + LESS CALLS + MORE PAY + (RELATED TO LESS CALLS)LESS IDIOTS TO DEAL WITH. (except on Friday/Saturday (crying) hate high school/college kids!)

i disagree, his not hired yet and he didn't pass probation yet. I would do anything to get on peoples good side, even if it means getting tazed. Second what is a few jolts worth if that dude really starts to like you and happens to be the FTO?

The dude that asked me was the Captain of the road patrol.. of course I am going to say yes.. gotta get those points! My friend I've been riding with and got me in the door is the day shift supervisor and he is an FTO.

I still haven't heard anything but am being positive..it took a while just to get the interview.

hang in there, some department, i've seen department hire someone in 1 week to hire someone (usally the crappy ones), some departments 6months and Chicago? I heard for someone, it took them 1 year just to do a background check and still didn't get hired.

EDIT: also don't put ur eggs in one basket, even if they like you, keep applying to other departments. It might be a few years before they hire anyone due to hiring freezes and budget cuts.

Good advice. I will take this advice as well I am going to give this department I am applying for my best shot but I know how hard it is to swing a job anywhere--especially LEO these days...so I have to keep my options open
