Yeah you can walk away from the fool and I would, but if he reaches for me before I can get away from him I like to think I have the right to at LEAST show my firearm without being prosecuted for brandishing.

I can't say I know for sure what a non LEO CCP owner CAN do but I wanted to know what LEOs can or would do.

I have a question on this...a while back I asked my CCP instructor (a 25+ year LEO veteran with many national and international credentials in firearms instruction) about brandishing; when it would be proper/improper under the law to display or even draw my handgun, without pointing it at a BG, as a deterrent. He said that technically there are no laws or regulations concerning "brandishing" a weapon, at least here in NC.

By jstringer's statement I assume there are some states with laws covering the topic? It would be good to know.
