Question tac boot ideas

hey al,l i'm looking for a tactical boot but i do not know what brands to stay away from. i would like a 6 inch boot with side zipper. the coverse "work stealth, swat" looks good in the photo and review department on a few web sites i have gleaned over but i would really like to hear what you guys think of it. any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I like the magnums but the inside soles wear out quick on me because the side zipper is never zipped on mine. Otherwise they are great.

I wear bates untralights and have for the past three years. They are the 8in with a side zipper. I love these, the sole wore out after about a year, but when i wear them 7 days a week, thats a given. THey also shine up real nice.

Forget the side zips.

I have found Belleville, Altama, and Danner to all be rock-solid and durable. I have never owned any Corcoran's but from what I have heard they are on par with the above mentioned brands. Those brands are all more pricey than other brands, but the soles won't be falling off of them after eight months, holes won't be worn through the soles, the tops won't be fraying out, the hardware won't be popping off, etc. I guess the price probably equals out between buying one good pair @ 100 bucks versus two 50 pairs that last half the time.

I like the Original SWAT brand boot with the zipper. I get about 1.5 years service out of a pair, for the price I think that's good.

I have mostly used the side zipper style, which I like, but this last pair, the right boot wants to un-zip for some reason 3/4 of the way through the day.

Have a new pair on standby...
