typically for employment, you'll fill out a questionair on your background. the examinar will review it with you, then they will ask you specific questions on your background. They are yes/no answers, and shouldn't be any suprises. its just ackward sitting with the stuff stapped to you, be honest on your background and you'll not have any problems.

Have you ever carried a concealed weapon? "Yes." Why? "I have a concealed weapons license ma'am." Do you have a weapon on you right now? "No."
Have you ever falsified information during this hiring process?
What's the worst crime you've ever committed and not been caught for? "Driving 110mph in a 55." Why? "It was our Senior Prom Night After Party. Two vehicles were racing there and I had to follow them because we didn't have cell phones. I know, stupid, I am aware of that. I didn't drive that way before and I don't drive that way now."
They might ask you if you've ever used or trafficked a number of drugs, most of which I've never heard of. The list they asked me was somewhere around 30 I'd guess. I think I had heard of about 8 of them.
Be honest. Because you did [insert crime] at 17 and you're now 29 and have shown that you've matured beyond that behavior doesn't mean the Chief of Police won't select you. If you're 29 and you did this stuff at 26, that might be a different story. Good luck.

What I noticed also when I did my polygraph is that they might/will press issues that don't even relate to you and hound you about it like you were really involved in it.
They kept on pushing the fact that I was involved in drug trading.
