Finally got my background check started!

So I applied to the Border Patrol back in March and took my compressed testing later that month. I filled out the packet, did the interview and medical the following month and then, nothing. I was just about to lose hope when I got a call this morning! They finally started my background check and have assigned a case worker to my file! F*ck yeah!

Right on!

So what's your background? And what the heck is a "compressed" application?

...there sure as h-e-doublehockeysticks wasn't a "compressed" version for Customs Officer...

Good luck, though! Are you looking forward to any particular duty station?

Not to be Debbie Downer, but keep things in check! There are many more steps to go, but keep your chin up and be prepared in case things don't work out. (I hope they do!)

I know they're hurting for people right now, which certainly helps folks' chances!

When I was interested in LEO duty I took a serious look at the Border Patrol and by god it looked like the toughest application process I'd ever seen.

Good luck with it all!!

Compressed testing means you get the results the same day. I had the interviewed scheduled for the next month that day as well. Right after the interview, I was scheduled for the drug and physical. I was done with everything by April and waiting for the background. Now, the REAL waiting game begins.
I think I applied for the Yuma or Tuscon sector. Whatever it was, it was in AZ. I'm getting sick of Detroit.

Sick of Detroit, eh? What with the cold, and the violence, and the cold... I hear ya.

Rumor has it Tucson Sector is one of the busiest BP sectors on the entire south border, so (if that's still true) definitely good luck! Keep your head on a swivel and your @$$ outta the hospital!
