I used to work with a couple of guys in the field who would wear the the station shirts wherever they went off duty. Now, I bought mine because the money went to the station fund or went to the families of slain officers. I only wore it at a dept. function or inside my house. I would never wear it in public.
I worked with one guy who had a license plate that said, "I be 417" (that's the penal code section for brandishing a weapon). The license frame said, "Take a Cop to Bed." Really stupid in my opinion; you might as well put a bulls eye on your forehead. In S. Cal., it seems to be a favorite thing for a lot of leos to have a license place frame with the radio frequency of their dept. inscribed on it. The bad guys know what it means, so all they are doing is putting themselves and family members in jeapordy IMO. invssgt, I was hard core |
