For give the ignorance. Now what do you do with them? Are you able to process them or are the garbage? It seems like something a local Soup Kitchen would greatly appreciate.

Is that waaaaaay down south Texas in the valley? That bank looks kinda familiar around the Arroyo near the coast. You don't have to disclose your location, I was just curious. Anyway, if it's where I think it is then I know right where you are. Nice hogs BTW!

Here is a pic of the black bear I killed in November 2004. It was 19 steps away when I shot it with my Remington 710 in .30-06. I hit it in the head just above the right eye. He came out of a thick pine plantation that was impossible to see through. I knew there were bears in the area, but didn't expect to see one that close. He never knew I was there. We were unable to weigh him, but locals guessed he was between 300 and 350 pounds. We didn't think to measure his length. I am 5' 10" and his head was still on the ground in this picture. I have more pics of him if anyone is interested in seeing them.

I killed this doe with the same rifle as the bear. I killed it in November 2006. She was 123 yards away turned broadside. She dropped in her tracks, gotta love not having to track them.

I killed this 9 point with the same gun this past November as well. He was about 20 yards away when I finally got a shot. He was in a grown over clear cut that has a ton of scrub brush in it. I could hear him walking and see his horns, but nothing else. Finally he winded me and took about 3 really big jumps. I shot on the 3rd jump and hit him in the brisket. He went about 30 yards and was pouring blood like someone had opened a faucet. He ended up falling down in the 4 wheler trail making him really easy to load.

And there are those that say a 710 can't do $hit! I have one and like it. It shoots where I aim and I only spent $300 on it.

Here is a doe I shot with my bow in my neighbor's back yard. I tried to scan some of my buck pics, but they didn't turn out too good.

Here is a good Bass that I have been hunting for a long time! Released to fight again!

not quite so...

Even though they don't get up and run, they still don't die instantly. When you shoot a deer through the heart and lungs, they basically die from lack of oxygen, because they no longer can get it into the blood, or they loose so much blood that it can't carry enough. The only way to make a "quick kill" or almost instant one, is a shot to the head, and as you see in my photos, even that doesn't always do the trick if it doesn't hit the right part of the brain. I just say this, so that you realize it ain't about the "pistol" it has to do with shot placement and the particular way that it immobilizes the animal. The .44 mag is a very hard hitter at 30 yards, so no reason to doubt it, just don't be surprised if an animal gets up and runs if you only make a heart/lung shot.

I would have to disagree. I have been hunting (carrying) for 13 years and been out with my father for a few years before that. I have shot many, many deer in my short lifetime (~50+). I am a dead-eye with a rifle and I have dropped many deer in their tracks by only hitting the heart or lungs or both with rifle or handgun. You say you have to hit a shoulder to keep them from running or they ALWAYS get up and run. I'm not sure what state you are in, but I have dropped PA deer dead in their tracks with a .308, .270, and .300 mag in rifle and the 44 mag and 357 mag for pistol. I have also had a few run for hundreds of yards with no heart or lungs left.

I'm not saying you are entirely wrong, just that I do not agree with your use of the word "always".

I want new and/or uneducated hunters to see the whole picture.
