Duck Hunt Arizona style

This was from earlier today (12-30-06). My FIL and I went out on Saguaro Lake with my buddy and his boat. We downed 10 or 11 but only recovered 7. There is 5 different breeds of duck in the pic.

It's a camera phone pic...sorry.

Duck hunt 12/28/06

Went duck hunting for the first time this season at a nearby NWR. Nothing but wood ducks in this area. Brought my Golden Daisy with me for her first hunt ever. I was a little nervous at first, because I trained her myself, she had never retrieved a real bird before, just a deadfowl trainer, and I initially trained her over 4 years ago. I just moved back to louisiana from florida and I didn't do any hunting in florida. Anyway, took a shot at a woodie and knocked it down. Daisy stayed till I sent her, just like we trained. She went out to the bird and turned to look at me like she was saying "what is this? This has feathers, I'm coming back!" So I sent her out two more times and on the third try, she brought it back. I was so excited for her, now she knows what to do! Shoulda had another woodie to get my limit, but he was out of range. Anyway, here's a pic:

This is me and my buddy Wade hunting the second week of December. We were only hunting for 10 minutes and walked up to a place we haven't hunted in a couple of years. There they were 4 birds up in the air, and 4 birds down. Man have we got the pheasants in west Texas.

Feral Pig Hunting and Trapping

Not hunting, but trapping. These feral pigs are taking over in some areas of Missouri. This was a sow and 8 little ones. I killed a bigger boar last week. I will try to post a pic of him later.

Another beautiful day at Lake Saguaro...

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics...

We recovered 8 out of 14 ducks. No Mallards today though.
