On the bandwagon
Hello All,
I have always been a "gun guy" and a hunter but never owned a handgun. My friend is a police officer and I have always had a blast shooting his glock. He recently bought a S&W Sigma for $300. With that in mind and the current political landscape, I started my month long research that culminated in what in my mind was the only option; the XD(m) 40. Obviously I spent more than $300, but as with anything, you get what you pay for. I am owning for range shooting and home defense as well as completing a well rounded gun collection. I have found a lot of useful information in this forum. I'll be sure to post my updates. Gaberelli in WI |

Eddie Eagle rules...Good or bad?
With regards to these rules, I'd like to get a general consensus:
1. STOP! 2. DON'T TOUCH! 3. LEAVE THE AREA! 4. TELL AN ADULT! I just don't know if I completely agree with "LEAVE THE AREA!" rule, leaving behind an unsupervised and possibly loaded firearm for some other curious and uneducated child to find and something VERY bad happen as a result of it. I know that this rule probably saves lives in the long run by removing children from the threat, but it does not remove the threat itself. So my question is this. At what age would you consider it wise or safe to teach young adults that clearing a found weapon before leaving it to tell an adult is an option? Are there legal ramifications in doing so with anyone under the age of 18/21? Am I completely off my rocker here?
