Prop,
Great job, Powder river has a great product I Ordered mine after talking to Daniel Thursday befor Memorial day mine arrived on the Tuesday after the Holiday. Never stripped the gun that far before and it was a breeze, Daniel sent me one of the his last prototype overtravel blocks and talked me thru the install and your work will really help anyone who wants this great mod. I also polished my sear and striker to smooth out the break What a difference. again great job. Azxdfan

Thanks.
Well, I took it to the range today. The first five shots made one hole at 7 yards. Two handed, free standing, XD9 Tactical, factory ammo. I wish I had my real camera. The picture would've been clearer. With this kit, my trigger went from |--------------**@+++++++| to |-----**@++| where - represents the take up (all that initial slack) * represents the trigger creep @ is the point where the shot breaks and + is the overtravel Having significantly less movement in my trigger finger results in less unwanted influence on my grip. Your results may vary.

Well, I had mixed results with my install...I probably need to do something differently, I'm sure. For one, I couldn't get the overtravel stop to install correctly. It's an extremely tight fit, and I've sanded it down quite a bit as it is. Basically the trigger doesn't move when it's installed. Then, it seems that the trigger bar comes apart from the safety lever if the trigger is pulled completely back then the slide cycled. This means the trigger is stuck all the back, and the slide must be partially cycled in order to "reset" it.
I'll have to give Daniel a call come Monday and see what I'm doing wrong

Agalindo Is correct to get the trigger reset after the break hold the trigger back and cycle the slide then slowly move the trigger forward and you should hear the reset of the trigger bar to the Safety lever. Then you are ready to fire again. If you do no get the reset then a small adjustment (fitting) of the trigger safety bar from Powder River is required. Daniel is the Master and can explain it better than I, He walked me thru it and mine works great.
Good luck you won't regret the time and trigger.

Propellerhead,
Thank you very much for the pictures & explanation of working on the Powder River SL & OTS. I ran into a couple of problems instaling mine, so i called Daniel and he helped greatly in solving what i needed to do. The trigger works great now. |

Prophead... thanks for the great write up man! VERY nice pictures and great descriptions.
My PR lever should be waiting for me when I get home. Im excited to put my stock sear back in, and get the new lever in. I have a springer trigger bar, that I was told could be used with the lever. So Im going to see how that all works together. Should be good to go then. I hope... I sort of plan to dual purpose my pistol now. Not sure how good it is to do this, but until I can pick up another carry pistol Im going to try. I can swap those parts out very quickly. hardly need tools now. So Im going to put the upgraded trigger parts in for the range, then during cleaning swap in all stock parts except for the springs for carry duty. Only takes a few minutes. Again...thanks for the write up, and if I decide I cant use the springer bar for whatever reason, ILl have a great reference for the overtravel stop that Ill have to order. J. |
