Is the HS2000 still available in the US or around the world?
No new HS2000 pistols are allowed into North Amrica unless SA does it, since they have the importaion rights. The HS2000 is still available everywhere else in the world through various distributers not based in North America. Used HS2000 are still found in pawn shops and stores but they are few and far between.

Is the XD availabe anywhere else other than North America?
Probably not, since other importaion companies have rights in their respective areas of distribution.

FYI

The HS latest series (Generation 4) is available here in Manila same with the XD, they are identical in all aspect, it differs only on the markings of the slide 'HS' and 'XD'.

This is the HS45 ACP model with a thumb safety

Mags as well as the guns and accessories are made in the same factory. Only difference is the stampings/markings. That is per the HS website.

In regard to the original HS2000. The HS2K, as we called it back in the day only came in 9mm. The 40 and 357 came out only after Springfield took over importation.

I still have two original generation 1 HS2Ks. Both have had many, many thousands of rounds through them and are are smooth as silk. My brother has a Generation 2 HS2K.
