question on ammo for my 45c

I bought my xd about 8 months ago. Before that It had been about 8 years since I handled a weapon (in the military). I bought some Federal 230 grain hydra-shok jhp rounds for personal protection. Can you guys tell me if that's a decent round or not. thnx.

The Hydra-Shocks are decent....I think Federal has since released a newer round called the HST. I personally like the Speer Gold Dot or the Winchester Ranger.

Don't worry though, the Hydra-Shocks are just fine.

Hydra Shocks are very good, I too use Speer Gold Dot 230gr, but you cant go wrong with Federal.

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

I used to carry hydra-shocks they are fine but I now prefer the Speer Gold Dot 230 Grain or the Gold Dot 200+p as well as some of the Self defense rounds offered by CorBon like their excellent DPX rounds,Powerball and, Their Traditional JHP. How ever the Hydra-Shocks will certainly get the job done.
